Malkie Scher is a recent graduate from The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree, and is currently awaiting admission to the New York State Bar. She has been passionate about helping the special needs community since she was a child, spending many of her weekends and free time volunteering and helping out at the local group home run by Ohel Bais Ezra. Prior to graduating from law school, Malkie worked and volunteered at numerous organizations dedicated to helping the special needs community. She worked as a caretaker at multiple group homes, and for three summers, worked as a camp counselor at Camp HASC, a sleep-away summer program for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. She also provided individualized care for children with disabilities within their homes, assisting them with different aspects of their daily routines. Additionally, she worked as an assistant teacher at the Kulanu Academy, a high school for children with learning disabilities and other special needs. Malkie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media Studies from Queens College, enjoys travelling, eating a flavorful steak, and spending time with family and friends.
